Collaboration

Collaboration

For PeopleFlo, collaboration is a distinctive and highly valued capability. It is based on the belief that none of us possess all of the knowledge or resources necessary to create revolutionary product lines with both high-impact innovation and superior efficiency.

High-performance teams. Our project teams, made up of PeopleFlo and OEM customer personnel, collaborate passionately. They live a philosophy that all of us can innovate in ways that are not possible by any one of us. Team members are obsessed with sharing their knowledge and are clear about how their individual capabilities mesh with overall project goals.

Open innovation. For the complex manufacturing environment, internal collaboration is not enough. In order to innovate extensively, we must innovate openly. We collaborate externally in the spirit of open innovation by surrounding our project team with strategic partners who contribute in pivotal ways. We strive to know our limits – knowing what we know and knowing what we don’t know – to drive us without hesitation to seek external ideas, knowledge and technology.  For example, the EnviroGear zero-leak pump was developed in close collaboration with people like Dr. Jeffrey Liker (Professor, University of Michigan and author of The Toyota Way),  Mr. Richard Labrecque (Retired Corporate Senior Vice President ITT Industries and CEO of ITT Fluid Technology), Mr. Patrick Thomas (Retired Executive Vice President and COO of Hamilton Sundstrand Industrial, a subsidiary of United Technologies) and Mr. Toshihiro Nagamatsu (President and CEO, Shingijutsu Japan Corp).

Alignment. PeopleFlo’s collaboration strategy seeks to minimize a division of innovation labor where the work of innovation or efficiency changes hands and is divided between two or more companies. Our collaboration strategy is intense outside-in collaboration combined with clear alignment characterized by a one team, one mission and a one product line system.
