Why are zero-leakage chemical process pumps, that lower operating costs and eliminate environmental costs, so complicated, so expensive, and therefore so uncommon? Inspired by these questions, PeopleFlo Manufacturing was founded in 2004 in Chicago to design and manufacture EnviroGear®, a zero-leak pump for customers in the chemical, petrochemical and food processing markets. EnviroGear is uniquely designed to enable customers to reduce operating costs and eliminate environmental costs for a more affordable up-front investment. Starting in 2005, a select group of US chemical and food companies, including DuPont, PPG Industries, Cargill, HB Fuller and 3M, tried EnviroGear pumps on difficult applications with success. Subsequently, PeopleFlo introduced the EnviroBase® pump baseplate system. In 2006 the EnviroCare™ line of pump protection accessories was introduced through a partnership with Emotron, Inc. In 2007, PeopleFlo commercially launched EnviroGear to the North American market at the 23rd International Pump Users Symposium in Houston, Texas. The PeopleFlo founders not only shared a vision for new generation zero-leak pump. They also shared a vision to advance how products are made. That vision was based on a passion for manufacturing and the new applications of manufacturing methods pioneered by people like Henry Ford, W. Edwards Deming, Shigeo Shingo and Taiichi Ohno. Most importantly, the PeopleFlo founders shared a belief that employees, board members, shareholders and strategic partners represent PeopleFlo’s competitive advantage. These people, with the knowledge they possess combined with the ways we collaborate, make everything possible from how we develop new products and processes to how we adapt to unforeseen challenges. |
